Thank Him...for US!

Children are not just gifts from God, but blessings.

Is every child born really a blessing...Is there a time when a child is not truly a blessing...
Well the Scripture seems to make no qualification - children are a blessing from God, period. Though God intends children to be blessings, parents may not receive the child as such and may raise the child in a way that prevents the child from being much of a blessing to them or anyone else. It is the parents' choice whether to accept the child as the blessing God intended or to regard the child as an unwanted burden. Too many times we hear stories of neglect and abuse of children, witness the maltreatment of children, and even personally know parents who do not realize the blessings that their children are. The epidemic of the increasing rates of children placed in the foster care system is a major indicator that our world has forgotten the beauty, innocence, and blessings of children. It is even believed in society that unplanned pregnancy gives parents a choice...to parent or not. They aren't ready...the timing isn't right. They don't want to be parents. Is God's timing ever truly wrong? The timing of a given child may seem hard to some or just awfully inconvenient. There might be serious situations that make one think it is an unwise time to bring a child into the world. Perhaps there are huge marital difficulties, perhaps very serious health problems, perhaps a family financial crisis, perhaps mental illness or addiction, or perhaps a war and great suffering and hardship. But even so, there are numerous examples of how a child has been a tremendous blessing in spite of each of these circumstances. Sometimes the child can be a significant tool in God's hands in resolving marital problems. At other times, a child can become the very joy and blessing of his or her parents in the midst of otherwise very hard and difficult times. Which of us is wise enough to know what the future holds and to judge when is a truly good or bad time in which to have a child? Without knowing all that a child's future holds, how can we judge the best time for a child to be born? And even if we think we can, there are problems! We may try to have a child, but there is no telling when or if a child will be conceived. And at the time of conception, we don't truly know what tomorrow holds (James 4:11) - in nine months things may be terribly different! Who can say how much depends on, or how many other lives will be touched by a single child and how great the loss to us all will be if that child is not born in God's time?

Imagine life without this...

Hug a child today...
Love a child today...
Pray for a child today...

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack a.k.a. Kainiac

Psst! Psst!

Hey Kain, Kain!

Come with me, we'll go and see a place called Candy Island.

Who needs Candy Island, its safer at the docks!

But there ain't no streams of sodie pop, all trickling down the rocks!

Its dangerous and risky-

But adventurous and free!

Adventure that's the life for me.

They've got lollipop trees and a lemonade sea-

Doesn't sound too good to me.

The Misadventures of

...KAINIACCCC!!!!!

We last saw Kainiac embarking on a new adventure of concert hopping with the Red Dirt Rangers. Since then, he has traveled the world...all the way to Shawnee, Oklahoma. He let his guard down, enjoyed a lot of food, cookies mainly, fireworks, family, and tormenting his two favorite ladies, Rubi and Pearl. He attempted to corrupt his youngest cousin, Beau, by teaching him to "squeal", "chase", "pester"...all the good things in life. But, Beau stayed true to himself and was able to overcome this wild man's antics. Without a cousin to "turn" to the wild side, Kain looked for his next "victim" and set his sights on Miss Rylie Jo. She was unaware about what was likely to occur. He snuck up behind her, grabbed her by the shirt, and made her giggle and squeal and giggle and squeal. Once she let him know she was falling for his tricks, there was no turning back! However, her attention and "squeals" weren't enough! No! He needed ALL the POWER!!!! There was nothing he wouldn't do...this time, pulling out all the stops...even resembling his Uncle Jake with a continuous demand of applause for a job well done from EVERYONE. Once he had the rest in his control, there was no turning back...we can only imagine what adventure he will lead us on next time...Until next week...The Marvelous Misadventures of...

"There Must Be More to Life Than This" - M.J.

There must be more to life than this
There must be more to life than this
How do we cope in a world without love
Mending all those broken hearts
And tending to those crying faces
There must be more to life than living
There must be more than meets the eye
Why should it be just a case of black or white
There must be more to life than this

Why is this world so full of hate
People dying everywhere
And we destroy what we create
People fighting for human rights
But we just go on saying c'est la vie
So this is life

There must be more to life than killing
A better way for us to survive
What good is life, if in the end we all must die
There must be more to life than this

There must be more to life than this
There must be more to life than this
I live and hope for a world filled with love
Then we can all just live in peace

There must be more to life, much more to life
There must be more to life, more to life than this.

Yes, Michael, there is...
Rest in peace, King of Pop.

Kain tips his hat to the King of Pop...

"Summer Nights" - Kain Style!

"Summer Nights"

Summer lovin', spring's in the past
Summer lovin', hope it will last

Three cousins, happy as can be

Uncle J.J., with way too much "cheese"

Summer days, driftin' away

to uh-oh, those summer nights

Uh Well-a well-a well-a huh

Tell me more, tell me more

Does Kain play in the dirt?

Tell me more, tell me more

Is that a STAIN on her shirt?

Uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh

Beau is ready, no need for a nap...

Rylie's swinging and laughing at her Pap

(PaPa, that is)

Kain ran so fast, he fell to the ground

And Rylie shows her Pops the rock that she found!

Summer sun, something's begun, but uh-oh those summer nights

Uh well-a well-a well-a huh

Tell me more, tell me more

Rylie said, "Kain, how 'bout a race?"

Tell me more, tell me more

Kain replied, "You better run, I want first place!"

Uh-huh-uh-huh-uh-huh-uh-huh

Rylie pauses for some lemonade

Uncle J.J. helps continue the "parade"

Kain's down but not out...

Rylie's finished, down for the count!

Summer fun, don't need to run, but uh-oh those summer nights
Uh well-a well-a well-a huh

Tell me more, tell me more...

Cousin Love...that's what SUMMER is FOR!

KAIN LOVES SUMMER!
